Another way of life in Viladrau

The Montseny Massif lies to the north of the coastal depression and on the extreme eastern end of Catalonia’s Pre-coastal Mountain Range. Just 40 km from Barcelona. It is the area's highest massif. Three basic subunits may be distinguished: the Turó de l'Home (1.706 m), Les Agudes (1.703 m) and Matagalls (1.697 m).
In a horseshoe shape, the three wrap around Tordera Valley. On Mt. Montseny one can find the three landscapes characterizing the three great regions of Europe: Mediterranean, EuroSiberian, and Alpine Forest, with abundant examples of the different species of flora and flora defining them.
The extraordinary quality of the scenery, the great diversity of the vegetation and the spectacular seasonal changes in color, particularly from the chestnut, oak and beech trees, make for an ideal site for hiking. At Montseny Natural Park’s information centers visitors can find out about trails, points of interest and other useful information to make the very most of their visits. It is particularly recommended to use the network of marked trails, some of which feature an informational brochure.
